A public call for entries invited professional artists from all over Switzerland and nearby countries to participate. In a two-stage selection process by a jury, 24 artists were invited to show works in the garden of the cultural venue Weiertal.

The aim of the sculpture symposium was to promote regional and national artistic creation, to examine current three-dimensional art in the open air and to reflect on the relationship between art, space and the public.
